Michael Snell MJS Groupe

For nearly two decades, Michael has worked at the intersection of consumer behavior, brand strategy, luxury marketing, and cultural influence—helping brands better understand not simply who their consumers are, but what drives them to engage, desire, and ultimately choose.

As Founder of The MJS Groupe, Snell has developed a distinctive approach to modern brand building rooted in consumer psychology, strategic positioning, visibility, and experience. His work spans luxury and lifestyle, hospitality, automotive, retail, professional services, and consumer brands, bringing behavioral insight together with creative and commercial strategy to shape how brands are perceived in increasingly competitive markets.

Known for looking beyond traditional marketing metrics, Snell focuses on the behavioral and emotional forces that create relevance, aspiration, loyalty, and long-term brand equity. His philosophy is simple: visibility alone is not influence, and attention alone does not create value. The most successful brands understand how to turn both into meaningful consumer action.

Remaining personally involved in the strategic direction of The MJS Groupe and its client engagements, Snell continues to lead the firm with the same principle on which it was built:

Understand the consumer. Shape the perception. Create the desire.

A Quick CV About Michael -

Michael J. Snell, PhD has built a career around one central question: what makes a consumer choose?

Spanning luxury retail, automotive, consumer experience, brand strategy, and executive leadership, his career has combined the study of human behavior with the practical realities of building brands, launching products, developing customer experiences, and influencing purchasing decisions at scale.

Michael earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing & Management from Wagner College in New York City, beginning his career within the flagship New York operation of Bloomingdale’s under Macy’s, Inc. There, his early work centered on client development, retention, and the relationship between frontline experience and consumer behavior.

He went on to reconceptualize and lead a large-scale Customer Retention & Engagement Training Program, educating more than 2,600 employees in clienteling, consumer engagement, product knowledge, and sales performance. The initiatives contributed to a documented 23% increase in sales productivity over an eight-month period, providing an early demonstration of a philosophy that would ultimately define his career: understanding consumer behavior can create measurable commercial results.

Following the completion of his first Master’s Degree in Marketing, Michael joined Tesla during one of the most transformative periods in the modern automotive industry. Beginning in consumer experience and advancing into executive-level global launch initiatives, his work explored how an emerging technology company could fundamentally rethink the traditional automotive customer journey.

His responsibilities expanded across consumer experience innovation, global product introductions, experiential strategy, and launch visibility, with initiatives connected to more than $170 million in global sales impact. His tenure intersected with several defining chapters in Tesla’s expansion, including the Model X, Model 3, Powerwall, Solar Roof, and Gigafactory era.

While working within this rapidly evolving environment, Michael completed a second Master’s Degree in Management—further developing an approach to leadership that combines consumer intelligence, creative disruption, operational discipline, and commercial accountability.

Michael was subsequently recruited to Rolls-Royce Motor Cars North America under BMW Group, transitioning from one of the world's most disruptive automotive companies to one of its most storied luxury marques.

Working across the Americas, his focus centered on marketing visibility, product launches, experiential activations, dealer engagement, and the evolving expectations of the next generation of ultra-high-net-worth consumers. His work contributed to initiatives surrounding significant introductions including the Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII and Cullinan, as the marque balanced more than a century of heritage with an increasingly digital, experiential, and culturally connected luxury marketplace.

The experience reinforced a principle that remains central to Michael's work today: the strongest brands evolve without losing the qualities that made them desirable in the first place.

Most recently, Michael completed advanced doctoral studies through the Yale School of Management, earning a PhD centered on the application of Consumer Behaviorism within luxury, experiential, and high-visibility business sectors. His academic work further formalized nearly two decades spent studying the relationship between perception, aspiration, experience, influence, and consumer decision-making.
